Something strange happened last August.

An icon called the Hawaiian Mother of Jesus arrived in Bulgaria and was in procession all over the land. It was displayed for veneration in churches, being brought on to hospitals and monasteries, the Bulgarian Orthodox church gave it dear appreciation.

Why do I think it’s a strange event? Because it was display and veneration of… a paper clip set in a shirt, a magazine copy of the disappeared Montreal Iverion Theotokos. The whole story follows.
I’m not baffled that there is an orthodox in Hawaii or even East Timor.. There are brotherhood churches and believers all over the world… Russian, Serbian, Brazilian, Greek, Syrian and Chinese etc. But this was a Russian propaganda event.. Making a visit to BG of a disputed myrrh-streaming icon at the brink of BG president elections and the support by our ex-president and currently PM Radev to ruslam patriarch Kyrill and other russian oligarchs. This is a sound example of how the proPutler propaganda is using its BG slaves and orthodoxy to impact the public opinion in their favor. I’m irritated that Bulgarian patriarch Danail takes part in this scam, ignoring the cries and tears of the Ukrainian people and the true believers in Bulgaria and Russia.
The story starts a long time ago, even before the Great Schism of 1054. It was during emperor Theophilus reign of Byzantium 829-842, and the iconoclastic period. A devoted widow in Nicea had the icon at home. But the iconoclast soldiers saw her venerating the icon and wanted it destroyed. One of them had stabbed the chin of Our Lady with his dagger, and there and then red blood began to flow out of the wood. Not wanting the icon destroyed, the widow pays a bribe and promises to deliver the piece the next day to the quarters. But instead, she prayed to the Mother of God at the banks of the Mediterranean, and casts the icon in the sea.. The icon rises up and sails away.

Later her son finds refuge to Mount Athos in Greece as a monk. He recounted the miraculous circumstances and about the scar of the icon and how it sail away in the sea.. Much later, in 1004, a Georgian monk named Gabriel the Iberian, recovers the icon from the Egean sea, while labouring at Iviron monastery. It happened during Easter week. The icon appeared as a pillar of light near the monastery, and by the grace of Our Lady, he walked upon the water to reach it. The monks were astonished, layed the icon in the chapel and promised to take care of it…But on the next morning they found it at the gates of the monastery, and this happened several times. Brother Gabriel got a vision from Mother of God at not they, but she will protect them. From that time the icon is called Our Lady Portaitissa, or Gate-Keeper, who opens the Pearly Gates.. That’s why a copy of the icon is often placed above the gates of the monasteries and churches.
In 1648 the Moscow patriarch Nikon ordered and received an exact copy of the icon. At its arrival on 13 October a lot of miraculous healings happened according to the faithful. It was placed in Iverskaya Chapel by the gates of the Kremlin against Red Square. But the communists destroyed the chapel and the faith of the Iverskaya Bogoroditza icon is unknown to this very day. Maybe it will appear again after Putin’s regime downfall.

Montreal version. The Iverion icon original had been copied many times. One like copy is in a monastery chapel in Georgia. But one of the famous is/was the Myrrh-streaming icon from Montreal, Canada. For 15 years, 1982-1997, myrrh flowed down from the icon. Brother Jose Munos Cortes devoted his life to take care of it while on devotional trips around the world. In 1997, while in Athens, the monk was tortured and murdered, and the icon stollen and disappeared ever since.

And now we come to The Hawaiian Iverskaya Bogoroditza or Our Lady Iverion from Hawaii. This in fact is a paper copy of the Montreal Portaitissa, copy of the original Iverion monastery icon of the Mother of God The Gatekeeper.
It was in possession of a priest serving The Russian Orthodox church Abroad, in his home in Hawaii. Until the fall of the Iron curtain, that branch was independent of the Russian Orthodox church in SU. But after that the churches merged together.
One day, in a merry month of May 2007, the father Nectarios… while strolling around in his Honolulu home… sensed a fine aroma near his paper print copy of the Montreal Myrrh-streaming icon of Our Lady Iverskaya, which he had as a gift bought at the bookstore in Toronto. It scented roses.. He asked his wife if she could also feel the scent, and both took attentive observation of what might be the source of it. They noticed a small tear coming out of the wound mark… the soldier in Nicea had pierced the wood. This repeatedly happened many times, especially feasts, with an even stronger myrrh smell. One day they found the icon completely wet of myrrh of roses. He decides to speak to the bishops.. placed the icon in the parish church and there was observed at it is Myrrh-streaming since. Miraculous healings had been observed after contact with the myrrh. In 2008 the Archbishop of the Russian Orthodox church in SF declared the icon Myrrh-streaming Iverion Mother of God Portaitissa icon of Hawaii, and appointed brother Nectarios as her guardian keeper.

Since then, this.. fine copy…, that even is not an icon ( icon is a piece of wood with an image made after the canons), is traveling gloriously around the world, venerated from parish to parish. It doesn’t myrrh-stream any more, just in special rare occasions, according to the Russian Orthodox church leadership.. It comes to say at… modern Russians are righteous and faithful, in contrast to the rest of the world, sinked in sin and satanism… And they sell myrrh soaked cotton buds… they.
It came to Bulgaria.. not Serbia or Greece.. Because Bulgaria has at this moment a proPutin MP as Orban from Temu, and patriarch, who has Kyrill Gundyaev as a model, blessing the killings in Ukrainian war. And there are upcoming President elections… Why not show the locals who has might, values.. and weapons.. Not just nuclear, but divine too.. Processions.. propaganda.. to turn Bulgaria into Belarus…

Poor devils… and their Bulgarian servants… The most revered saint in Bulgaria after sts. Cyril and Methodius is st. Ivan of Rila Mountain, founder of the Rila monastery. But there will not be processions with his icon and veneration all around the land..
I.. I also wash my icons with rose water as a finishing process.. Maybe one day they can begyn myrrh-streaming?…. You never know… Maybe 🤔…
